Summer Camp - Popular Questions

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • Where is camp held?

Camps are held at 1321 W. New Hope Drive, Cedar Park TX 78613

Camps will primarily be inside our air-conditioned training buildings.  Weather permitting, we will enjoy time outside under the shade trees on our 7-acre property.  We also have a 10,500 sq ft artificial grass agility field with competition-level equipment.  Dog bathing and grooming lessons will take place in our professional grooming facility.

Fast CAT will be held in our 5-acre dog park.

  • Who teaches the camps?

Adults who are professional dog trainers with experience working with children of all abilities are the primary instructors.

All camp instructors are certified in canine and human first aid and CPR.

  • Can I get a full refund?

Refunds are available if requested 15 days prior to the start of camp.  Last-minute refunds are not available.

  • We don't have a dog, can my child still attend?

For in-person camps, a friendly dog can be provided for an additional fee.  The additional fee also includes all the training treats for the dog.

Borrowed dogs are not available for level 3 camps.

  • How do I know if my dog will behave?

Dogs that are uncomfortable with new people are generally not happy in camp.  Dogs with very high arousal levels around other dogs are not good candidates for camp.  Dogs that bark continuously when excited are also not good candidates for camp.

If you are worried that your dog is too much to handle for your child, please consider "renting" a friendly dog for the week.  We have a wide variety of dogs available that love going to camp.

If your dog is strong and you have any concerns that your child will not be able to keep your dog away from other dogs, please consider purchasing an easy walk harness.  Dogs adapt easily to the harness and it provides more control instantly.

  • My child has special needs, can they still attend?

Camps are designed for children who are in mainstream classrooms without the support of an aide.  The entire facility is handicapped-accessible.  Please contact us to discuss your child's unique needs.  We will do our best to accommodate them.

  • What is included in the price?

A priceless experience for your child.  For in-person camps, a t-shirt and snack each day.   If your child has allergies, please let us know so we can provide an appropriate snack.

A clicker will be provided for camps when children bring or borrow a dog.

Campers need to provide treats for their dogs.  Your child will need 300 high-value treats every day.  You can mix in their kibble.    Please budget for at least three bags of treats.

  • What should I send with my child each day?

If you are in a camp where the child is bringing their own dog, you will need

    • collar, 4 feet leash - no pinch or prong collars, no flex-leads
    • hundreds of high-value treats for the dog every day. (available for purchase) We recommend that you NOT feed the dog breakfast the week of camp. Learning new skills is fun when treats are involved.
    • water bottle for the child
    • sunscreen
    • treat pouch (available for purchase)
    • clicker (included in the fee)
  • Is my child eligible to attend the Level 3 Sport Camp?

This special week is designed for children who are very excited to work with their dogs.  To be eligible to attend, your child must be able to cue your dog to do basic commands and have attended our level 2 camp.  Children ages 12 to 15 are eligible.

Aggressive, shy, or barky dogs are not appropriate for this camp.
