Create Your Own Fundraiser!

From bake sales to backyard BBQs, you can host a fundraiser benefitting the Dog Alliance no matter where you live or what your age! The funds raised go directly to Hounds for Heroes (service dogs), Bow Wow Therapy Dogs (therapy dogs), Train Your Own Service Dog (service dogs), or our "Pawsitive Impact" Fund. You decide!

When you host a CYOF fundraiser, you are also creating awareness and interest in service dogs and therapy dogs.

How it works

Come up with your idea.

From small to larger, there are innumerable ways to have fun while raising funds and awareness for service dogs and therapy dogs! Kids can participate just as easily as grown-ups. "Doing good" has no age limit!

If you need inspiration for an idea, check out this list of possibilities!

Submit your application.

It can't simply be fun and games. The good work you do is a direct reflection of the Dog Alliance mission and hard-earned reputation so we do have guidelines for the planning and execution of your fundraiser.

Hold your event and have fun doing it!

Whether it's just you or an entire planning committee, be sure to let everyone know what you're doing and why! Have a great time! Your success directly benefits training service dogs for military veterans and therapy dogs who visit with children, adults, and senior citizens throughout the Greater Austin area.

Send in your donations.

Checks or fund transfers from fundraising proceeds are due to Dog Alliance within 30-days of the event's date. We can provide tax receipts for individual documented gifts of $25.00 or more.

FUNDRAISING IDEAS

A-to-Z Fundraising Ideas

Celebrations

Birthdays, graduations, weddings, or job promotions all provide an excellent reason to request a donation rather than a gift.

Love of Dogs

Celebrate your pet's birthday, "Gotcha Day', training class graduation, or other milestone. OK, perhaps a donation and a dog treat is in order here!

Lemonade Stand, Backyard BBQ, and Bake Sales are always in style!

Whether in your neighborhood, at work, or at school, these proverbial tasty fundraisers are always a hit!

Brown Bag Lunch Day

Everyone brings their own lunch and donates the money they would have spent buying lunch.

Memorials and Honor

Designating gifts in honor or in memory of someone special is a thoughtful and impactful way to celebrate their lives.

Unusual and Interesting

The person receiving the most donations has to kiss (a donkey, a frog, a horse). And, yes, we can help with that! How about "Boss for the Day", face-painting, movie night, dog walker, or the "flamingo alert". Join one of our webinars to learn more about that one!

Sharing Ideas and Best Practices

  • We offer quarterly fundraising workshops to talk about ideas - what works and what doesn't - along with a Q&A forum with like-minded givers like you! The next workshop will be Weds May 18 at 7:00PM via Zoom. Use the link below to email your interest in joining us!
  • Once your CYOF event is approved, we will provide you with the Dog Alliance logo and information to use for promoting your fundraiser.
